Order

Tell us how many cylinders you want, your street, and when you are home. Evenings and Saturdays included, usually in the same week.

Step 2

Delivery and pick-up

We bring the full cylinders to your door and take your empties away in the same visit. Nothing is ever left on a doorstep.

Step 3

Pay after delivery

12 € per cylinder by MB Way or card, charged once the full ones are with you. Hand back an empty for each one and there is no deposit. Your empties ride back to Rio Tinto, get refilled, and go out to the next door.

No empty to hand back yet? The first cylinder is 28 €. After that it is 12 € a delivery as long as an empty comes back with us.

That is the TR21-4 thread almost every soda machine has used for twenty years. If your cylinder screws into the machine, we can fill it.

Cylinders more than ten years past their stamped test date. We take them off your hands and recycle them.

Quick Connect machines can take a screw cylinder with a small adapter. We are testing one. Ask us before you buy a new machine.

The gas

Every cylinder in the rotation is filled by a person who weighs it twice.

Our filling station is a 10 kg food-grade CO₂ bottle from a Portuguese gas supplier, a chiller, and a calibrated scale. Each cylinder is emptied, chilled, filled to 425 g, leak-tested under water and weighed again before the label goes on.

425 g makes about 60 litres of properly fizzy water, or closer to 80 if you like it gentle. That is roughly 120 plastic bottles you did not carry up the stairs.

The same gas, from the same kind of supplier, that fills the cylinders in the big shops. The difference is that we do it here and charge you less for it.

Who we are

Portuguese bubbles. No baggage.

We are a small company from Rio Tinto, on the edge of Porto. The gas is bottled in Portugal, the cylinders are filled in Portugal, and the money stays in Portugal. There is no parent company abroad and no politics in your glass.

Bubbles without Troubles is independent and has no connection to SodaStream® or PepsiCo.

First cylinder with no empty to hand back: 28 €, filled. Collect from the station in Rio Tinto: 2 € off. For comparison, a shop swap costs 15 to 21 € and a new Philips cylinder 24 €.
